How to make the rear suspension of my 2000 Ford Taurus more heavy duty?

Is there anyway to make the rear suspension of my 2000 Ford Taurus SE more heavy duty? Mainly looking for advice from an experienced mechanic, but any advice would be great. Thanks for your time and God bless.

You could replace the original rear coil spring with beefier ones; about a $500 job. $250 or so for the pair of coils, and 2 1/2 to 3 hrs labour at $80 hr.
A less costly alternative is to install severe service/heavy duty shocks; I like Monroe SensaTrac. It might just stiffen it enough to suit your needs; cost under $200.
What ever you do, do NOT use the aftermarket coil spacers; high hazard of snapping the coil springs, with the sharp bits puncturing your tire, with potentially disastrous results.
