Following the increased operations in the company, the most efficient network connections are needed. The solutions to this will only be providing by the adoption of the 100BaseT and the star Topology network connection in the Ojuice Company's desktops. The 10BaseT has been known due to its low maintenance cost since the hardware used in the connectivity is very low. The wiring is also very cheap since a single wire can be used to connect two computers. Despite these benefit, the 10BASET connectivity is only appropriate for few machines since the disconnecting and collisions in network causes a lot of delays. With these facts, the 100BaseT will stand to be appropriate. Nevertheless, it's very possible to run two network connections in the same computer systems. This paper will discuss on procedure of updating the network connection to star topology as well as the hardware required to move to 100Base T. in addition, this paper will identify the procedure of arriving at the best desktop connectivity as well as the devices to use in the closets (Stuttard, 2007).

The star topology has been a common network topology in the recent due to its efficiency and simplicity in use. The star topology involves the active star network; whereby the active central node has the capacity of barring any echo-related problems. Important to note in this phenomenon is the use of insulated copper wires which provide data link layer. The 8 position modular connections or the RJ45 is adopted unlike other connections. In this case, half-duplex communication and full duplex are supported thus ensuring convenience and efficiency (Stuttard, 2007).

In order to move to a 100Base T, the following hardware updates should be affected in the company's desktops. This would ensure the safest and fastest connectivity in the system for the payroll department. To begin with, twisted-pair Ethernet cables should be wired in pin 1 to pin 2, pin 2 to pin 2 or wired in a crossover. Importantly, the pairs of the twisted cables should be separated or install switches since they create short circuits. Further, crossover connection, tip and tig should be facilitated so as to ensure efficiency of the whole process. On the other hand, a straight through cable is also very crucial in the 100BASET, this is for connecting the node to the network devices. This aspect will be appropriate in connecting two or more computers with a switch to one another. To facilitate the network connection, the earth net crossover cable is highly utilized in the 100CASET unlike in the bus topology or the 10BASET connection. So as to achieve maximum efficiency, automatic cross over switches are installed so as to ensure straight through cables are able to function with out any issues (HPC, 2001).
